Tutorials & Tips
The tutorials below show how to use our products in Premiere and Final Cut Pro. We'll be adding more examples with other editing software soon. Even if you don't use Premiere or Final Cut, these tutorials should help explain how to use our products with your editing system.
12 Inch Design products work with any editing system or software that supports 32-bit QuickTime files with an alpha channel. If your system doesn't support QuickTime, we recommend using QuickTime Pro from Apple (less than $30) to convert the clips into a different format.
PLEASE NOTE: SOME OF THESE TUTORIALS WILL OPEN A NEW BROWSER WINDOW. IF YOU ARE USING A POP-UP BLOCKER YOU MAY NEED TO DISABLE IT.

USING CUSTOMATTES |
Every ProductionBlox unit contains 5 Customatte animations. These animations allow you to customize their look by inserting any background within the shape of the matte. You can use these to create customized thirds and borders. Using Customattes in Final Cut Pro (QuickTime)Using Customattes in Premiere Pro (QuickTime) Using Customattes in Avid Express Pro (Flash) |

USING TRANSITIONS |
The Transition animations on PowerBlox 1 and PowerBlox 2 are great for easing from one scene to the next in an interesting way. They are meant to be placed above a hard cut on the timeline. This tutorial shows how to use the Transitions in Avid Express Pro but the usage is similar in all editing packages. Using Transitions (Flash) |
