Resources / Tips & Tricks / What can I use video backgrounds for?

Video backgrounds can be used in many ways, such as video post production, live event production, multimedia-based worship, digital signage, DVD authoring, Video DJ'ing, and many many more.

Our products are designed to be easy to use and to make you look good. Using them will save you time and money. And by using our products creatively, you'll stand out from the crowd and be able to work faster than your competition.

There are many different ways to use video backgrounds from 12 Inch Design. Here are a few ideas:

1) Video backgrounds are the perfect backdrop for text. They quickly and easily make any presentation more visually engaging. Don't forget that every background from 12 Inch Design loops seamlessly, so just place the clips end to end to get the duration you need.

2) Video backgrounds are also a great backdrop for video inserts. If you have one or more frames containing video, try adding a subtle moving background.

3) It's east to make an animated lower third from a video background. Just combine any background with the alpha channel (matte) from any of the static lower thirds included with ProductionBlox. Or use a DVE to move the background off screen. You can even vertically squash the clip because all of our material is progressive scan, so there are no fields to worry about.

4) If you have a logo or bumper, try dropping a video background behind it to make it really pop.
Moving backgrounds make great animated backdrops for DVD menus. Just import the clip into your authoring software to add a very professional look to all your DVD projects.

5) Try adding your own elements to our backgrounds. Many of our customers use our backgrounds as time-saving building blocks, adding other elements to make them look unique. This approach is perfect for the customer that wants a custom look but doesn't have a huge budget to work with.

6) If you have picky customers, you can quickly show them three or four different looks for their project by using different moving backgrounds.

7) Don't forget to try using your editing software's color correction to change the look of a video background.

8) If you use After Effects, try combining video footage with a moving background using an After Effects transfer mode. You'll quickly create a unique look for your video clips. You can see samples of this in work by Fuel Studios in our Gallery.

The only limit is your creativity!
